January 26, 2012. Branden Barker was installed today as President of the Commercial and Investment Division of the Greater Baton Rouge Association of Realtors.
Barker is a Certified Property Manager and has been a CID member for 8 years. He is a Property Manager in Latter & Blum Property Management’s Commercial Division.
Barker has served in a number of positions with CID, and in 2011 was honored as the “CID Member of the Year” for his efforts on behalf of the organization.
He also serves as chair of the LACDB (Louisiana Commercial Database) Board of Managers for CID, and is chair of the Louisiana Realtors Commercial Committee.

Latter & Blum Property Management Gains New Mississippi Management Contract

January 19, 2012. Latter & Blum Property Management has announced that the company has been awarded the property management contract for Tori Manor Townhomes in Gulfport, MS. Tori Manor currently includes 40 rentable units with 24 additional units currently under construction. Tori Manor features two-story, three-bedroom townhomes. A total of 92 units are planned for the property at build-out.

January 3, 2012 Debbie K. Prejeant, CPM®, has been installed as President of the Louisiana Chapter of the Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM). The installation ceremony was held on December 8 at the Audubon Park Clubhouse in New Orleans.
Debbie is the Director of Single Family Residential Property Management & Leasing for Latter & Blum Property Management. She was first elected to IREM’s Louisiana chapter board in 2007 and has served the chapter as Secretary, Treasurer, and President- Elect.
Debbie also chairs the IREM Louisiana Chapter Legislative Committee and was recently appointed to the IREM National Legislative Committee.

Christie Miller Joins Property Management

Christie Miller, CAM®, has joined Latter & Blum Property Management, Inc. as a Regional Property Manager in the company’s Multi Family Division. Miller brings over 20 years of experience to her new position.
At Latter & Blum Property Management, Miller will oversee the efforts of on-site property managers in Baton Rouge, Lafayette, Lake Charles and Covington. Miller, a Certified Apartment Manager®, will be based out of the firm’s Baton Rouge office.
Latter & Blum Property Management, Inc. is Louisiana’s largest third-party property management firm. The company has offices in New Orleans, Baton Rouge, Lafayette, and Shreveport, Louisiana.
Riggs, Miles Named Assistant Vice Presidents

August 22, 2011 Christopher Riggs and Beth Ann Miles have been promoted to Assistant Vice Presidents. In their new positions, Riggs will oversee the Latter & Blum Property Management’s Multi-Family Division operations in the New Orleans Region, and Miles will handle similar responsibilities in the Baton Rouge Region.
The separation of the company’s multi-family operations into two regions is part of a restructuring to allow better management of the company’s property portfolio.
“We are going through a period of unprecedented growth,” said Laura White, Vice President of the Multi-Family Division. “The new organizational structure addresses that growth and allows the company to better utilize the skills of both Riggs and Miles. At the same time it provides a method to better streamline systems and procedures.”
White added that all current regional managers will report to the Assistant Vice Presidents of their respective regions.
Muses Featured in Green Architecture and Building Report

August 18, 2011 The Muses, a 263-unit apartment complex in New Orleans, will soon be certified as the first LEED NC-Silver multi-family development in the state of Louisiana.
Latter & Blum Property Management has been involved in the project from its early stages and has continued day-to-day involvement as the Property Manager. The Muses and its LEEDS qualifications were recently featured in the Green Architecture and Building Report.
The Muses was a project of LDG Development and Gulf Coast Housing Partnership. Groundbreaking was held in July 0f 2009 and the project opened for residents in October of last year.

Scott School Apartments
July 6, 2011. Ribbon cutting was held last week for the Scott School Apartments, a new 60-unit multifamily development that includes rehab and conversion of the historic Baton Rouge school building and new construction of an adjacent two-story brick structure.
Latter & Blum Property Management has been named property manager for the project, which will provide critically needed affordable rental housing for the Baton Rouge area.
Of the 60 apartments, 15 are set aside as permanent supportive housing (PSH) for residents that are extremely low-income and have a substantial, long-term disability; and 14 units will provide supportive housing for the homeless.
Scott Street School was built in 1920 as the first modern elementary school for African-American students in Baton Rouge. The building has been rehabilitated to the Secretary of Interior’s standards for designated historic landmarks.
New Covington Complex Managed by Latter & Blum Opens

The Groves at Mile Branch
June 30, 2011 - The Groves at Mile Branch, a mixed-income community in Covington, LA, will welcome its first residents over the July 4th weekend.
The $24 million community, situated on 15 acres, is managed by Latter & Blum Property Management. The community features both affordable and market rate apartments. Sixty-six of the apartments are affordable housing, with the remaining 28 to be leased at market rates. Latter & Blum Regional Manager Chris Riggs noted that while demand is brisk for all units in the community, the market rate apartments are filling slightly faster than the affordable units.
One-bedroom market rate units start at $700 monthly, with three bedroom units starting at $900.

Branden Barker was recently honored as “CID Member of the Year” by the Commercial Investment Division of the Greater Baton Rouge Association of Realtors. The award is presented annually to an individual in recognition of outstanding contributions to the Baton Rouge CID chapter.
Barker is a Property Manager in Latter & Blum Property Management’s Commercial division. He is currently the President Elect of the Baton Rouge CID.
