Latter & Blum Chosen To Manage Chateau Carre Apartments

November 9, 2009. Latter & Blum Property Management has been selected to manage the 150-unit Chateau Carre Apartments in the Gentilly area of New Orleans. A groundbreaking ceremony was held recently to kick off the rehabilitation of Chateau Carre, which has been shuttered since Hurricane Katrina.

When the rehabilitation is complete, Chateau Carre Apartments will be a mixed-income housing development offering one and two bedroom rental units, 88 of which will be market-rate and 62 of which will be affordable housing.

Chateau Carre is located on Gentilly Boulevard across from Dillard University in the Sugar Hill neighborhood. The property has been carefully re-designed to create a community for the residents and to build relationships with the Sugar Hill Neighborhood. Spacious one and two bedroom apartments will be complemented by a new community building which will include meeting space, an exercise room, and a business center. There will be a variety of outdoor spaces including beautifully landscaped courtyards.

The apartments are expected to be complete and ready for residents in late summer of 2010.

The latest listing, in the Business Report’s Top 100 Private Companies issue, ranks Latter & Blum Property Management Number One in Baton Rouge property management with over 5 million square feet of commercial, industrial, office, retail and multi-family space under management.

Muses Groundbreaking Held

July 22, 2009. A project with a long history of Latter & Blum Property Management involvement took a major step toward completion recently when a groundbreaking ceremony was held for The Muses of New Orleans.

The Muses is a three phase Urban Residential Development in Historic Central City New Orleans which will replace 4.8 acres of vacant land with new construction of 263 apartments, 28 market-rate condos and 4,000 square feet of ground floor commercial space. The project is a partnership of Gulf Coast Housing Partnership (GCHP), a local non-profit real estate development company and LDG Development, a for-profit Louisville, Kentucky Corporation.

Latter & Blum Property Management’s Laura White, Vice President of the company’s Multi-Family Division, said “Latter & Blum has been involved with the Muses development team on this project from the beginning.”

White said that representatives of Latter & Blum Property Management attended neighborhood meetings, planning and zoning meetings and city council meetings, and consulted with the developers throughout the complex regulatory approval process.

Latter & Blum Property Management has been selected to provide property management for the Muses, including the day to day operations of the community. White noted that LBPM will also provide the lease up effort once the facility is ready for occupancy.

Debbie Harvill Named Chief Operating Officer

June 23, 2009. Debbie Usrey Harvill, CPM, has been promoted to the position of Chief Operating Officer of Latter & Blum Property Management, Inc.  The appointment, which takes effect immediately, was announced by Joseph Pappalardo, CPM, President of Latter & Blum Property Management.

In her new position, Harvill will be responsible for operations for all aspects of the company.  Pappalardo said “Debbie’s talent and years of experience in our industry will be invaluable assets as she helps guide us through the excitement and expansion that we envision for the future.”

Harvill will manage the company’s operations from the firm’s Baton Rouge property management office at 10455 Jefferson Highway in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

Pappalardo Honored By Loyola University

May 10, 2009. Joesph S. Pappalardo, President of Latter & Blum Property Management, was recently named Alumni Volunteer of the Year by Loyola University of New Orleans.  Pappalardo is a graduate of both Loyola University (Business) and Loyola University School of Law.  The award was presented during the school’s 2009 commencement activities.

Esplanade Center Under Management

Baton Rouge Commercial Property Management division has acquired the management of Esplanade Center located at I-10 and College/Corporate Drive. The center is approximately 100,000 square feet and has major tenants such as Sullivan’s, Clicks, The Red Door, Hooters, The Melting Pot, Business First Bank, Via Veneto, Dressed to Kill, Cici’s Pizza and Subway…Laura McNiece is the managing agent for the Esplanade Center.
